Our Staff

Dan Grenier
Dan began diving in 1968 in Chicago as a divemaster. In 1971 he received additional dive training withthe military in the Phillipines. Throughout the years Dan became interested in commercial diving and received certificates in Marine Sciences and Recreational Diving. His dream had always been to open a dive operation of his own and Fiji was still considered an undiscovered frontier for diving. Dan has done everything from farming kelp, transporting horses, designing underwater ROV's, and he even spent a few years training and transporting horses in the U.S.

Dan prides himself on the quality service he has developed and trains his staff to maintain the foundation he has built of world class dive sites, excellent service and safety.

Joiji
Our Lead PADI Divemaster/Instructor drives the boat and manages one of the dive team. Joiji is from the island of Taveuni in Fiji, and has worked as a divemaster for well over 10 years. Joiji's strong leadership skills, diving skills and his charismatic personality allow every day of diving with Crystal Divers to be a pleasure. Joiji loves to laugh. He is an excellent spear fisherman.

Alfred
Alfred has been with Crystal Divers since 1999. He is a PADI Divemaster and works on one of the dive teams with Dan. Alfred spent over 6 years in the Fijian Army before coming to Crystal Divers and was part of Fiji's peace keeping force in Lebannon. Alfred recently became a father to his second child Mark.

Bola
Bola has been with us since 2001 and has an uncanny ability to spot the tiniest critters such as nudibranches, spider crabs and flatworms. Bola is also from Taveuni and he is also an excellent spear fisherman.

Paul
Paul has just recently joined us from Castaway Island, and brings many years of dive experience to our dive expeditions. Paul has been diving for 8 years at two other dive operations in Fiji, and has commented that Crystal Divers has the best dive sites he's ever seen.

Mere ("Singer")
Mere is Joiji's sister and works as a deck hand on the Crystal Explorer. She assists divers in and out of the water, supplies our guests with on board refreshments, and she occasionally provides entertainment during surface intervals with her beautiful Fijian voice.

Alisi
Alisi has her own business, Island Catering, which provides hearty, healthy meals for our guests and other resorts nearby. Alisi was NAUI certified in 1996, along with Dan's older son Tommy, and is currently pursuing her Advanced certification while taking classes in Food Services.

Linda
Linda is the newest member of our team and came to Crystal Divers to take over the day-to-day operations of the business. As the Operations Manager she handles all of the guest bookings and business related correspondence. She is the one behind the scenes. Linda is also a NAUI certified diver, and Respiratory Therapist by trade.

Mere ("Darling") and Solate
Alisi, Mere and Solate make the magic behind the scenes (they bake the goodies for the dive boat). Our guests have requested one of Solate's recipes, so here is the recipe for Carrot Scones
